Who this is for
Classroom teachers, school counselors, and after-school leaders working with grades K–8 who need reliable mini lessons without a full curriculum purchase.
How lessons are structured
Every lesson lists objective, time, grade band, CASEL competency tag, materials, ordered steps, debrief questions, variations, and a note on what tends to go wrong when the lesson runs. We prioritize clarity for substitutes and busy Mondays.
Where the framework comes from
Competency tags follow the five-part CASEL framework (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, responsible decision-making), paraphrased from casel.org. The lessons themselves are original to this site — they are not reproduced from a purchased curriculum, and no lesson requires buying anything to run.
What we ask of a lesson before publishing it
Three tests. It must run in a single 15–25 minute block without preparation beyond gathering listed materials. It must be safe to run badly — a first-time facilitator following the steps flat should do no harm, which is why lessons that involve real student conflicts or public disclosure are written with explicit guardrails. And it must say honestly where it tends to fail, in the "what tends to go wrong" section, because a lesson plan that pretends it always works is less useful than one that warns you.
